Alex, honestly I think you're overemphasizing the whole Black Friday dynamic on Merge. Black Friday was a year and a half ago and I doubt anyone is still tilted about it (and when I say tilted I mean any sort of emotional adjustment)... even those who lost a lot of money. Maybe some bad players are playing a little differently, but they're bad anyway and I dont think its really a big difference. Sure its harder for us to deposit right now but anyone playing the high roller tournament is probably not that worried. In the 89s hand at around 13:20, you say you'd never donk the Turn on Stars but you do it here because presumably people are playing scared. I just dont think you can know that with enough confidence such that you can actually justify a play you'd normally never make. As far as the hand itself, I think we just look really obvious with our check call on the Flop. I'd rather donk the Flop and hope for decent scare cards on Turn/River to put him to a harder decision. I also dislike the Turn donk in this spot for basically the same reasons you said in the video - people try to rep that A on the Turn way too often ... and on top of that what are we check calling flop and donking turn with? I feel like its either A3/A4 or diamonds, but it feels a lot more like diamonds because we aren't going to be flatting A3/A4 preflop that much. I dont know.... its not the greatest spot no matter how you go at it, but I dont think I like the line we took.I hope this isnt coming across like an arrogant asshole douche post because I've learned a lot from you and I really value your videos. Keep it coming and congrats on your big score today.
