I'm confused about this.. Is it because his range from CO is really wide? We are ~28BB deep.. You would shove over that guys' raise with 44 instead of just 3-bet/folding if he 4-bets us? I don't know if thi sis correct, but it would seem like 3-betting to 8/9k and then if CO 4-bets us, we can let it go.. We would have 24.2BB left..
Is this the incorrect play because we are wanting to get it in and win a flip since we should have a coinflip in this hand? and we want to take any edge we can get?
I didn't actually explain my thought process all that well that hand. At first, I preferred a smaller 3 bet vs babooyah because I thought he would play exactly the same (either fold or go all-in) vs. any size 3 bet... And I preferred a smaller 3 bet because I thought we were deeper and could fold to maxxmeister. But, then I realized we were < 30 bbs effective and wouldn't be able to fold to maxxmeister so might as well just go all in so as to not give any impression of fold equity to maxxmeister. The value of reraising small pairs if you are The_Backdoors in that hand isn't in the race. The value is the 10k pot you win if he ever folds and if you are called you are usually racing. If I had a read that babooyah was tight I would also consider folding pre-flop. You definitely cannot call pre-flop though.
